A group of employees representing 1,252 Transco and Genco staff met Governor E S L Narasimhan on Monday seeking security, stating that they have been arbitrarily sacked by the Telangana power corporations and Telangana employees have threatened them against returning to work.

This happened hours before Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao met the governor and assured him of ensuring the safety of AP people.

In an order (No: 92) issued by D Prabhakara Rao, CMD of TSGENCO and TRANSCO, all the employees with AP origin were released with immediate effect, asking them to join the Andhra Pradesh power utility companies. The decision came after the high court postponed the case to Friday dealing with a petition of the aggrieved employees. Following the orders passed in a hurry, the HC gave an interim order staying the transfer of the employees.
