Terror suspect held in Hyderabad

For the past three days Hyderabad has been put on alert following the intelligence inputs that terrorist attacks were being planned in the city.

City Police Commissioner A K Khan told reporters on Monday evening that Zia-ul-Haq, 34, was arrested during the searches going on in the city in view of the alerts of possible terror attacks. A detonator was recovered from him, police added.
Special police forces including the Task Force and City Security Wing teams conducted anti-sabotage checks at various parks, shopping malls and cinema halls.

Following the leads in Ajmer blast, indicating that Mecca blasts could also be a handiwork of Hindu extremist outfits, surveillance has also been stepped up on Hindu extremist outfits in the city.
