At stake is the credibility of Rashtriya Janata Dal president Lalu Prasad, who has been accused of fielding his wife from two seats since he was not sure whether his better half would win from her traditional seat, Raghopur. Incidentally, the elections will be held for both seats on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission has made elaborate security arrangements for conducting the poll in 48 constituencies in six districts – East Champaran, West Champaran, Siwan, Gopalganj, Saran, and Vaishali districts. As many as 1.03 crore voters, including 47.56 lakh women, will decide the fate of 787 candidates.
