West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee congratulated party workers on the occasion of Trinamool Congress (TMC) completing 21 years since its inception on January 1, 1998. Her message came in a tweet during the wee hours of Tuesday.

“ The journey which began on January 1, 1998, has been full of struggles, but we have been steadfast in our resolve to fight for the people #Trinamool21,” tweeted the Chief Minister.

Referring to TMC’s slogan ‘Maa-Mati-Manush ( mother, soil and the people), coined by her, Banerjee thanked the people of Bengal for their support.

“ We are thankful to Maa-Mati-Manjush for their constant support. And the workers who work hard 365 days a year for the people. A big salute to you,” tweeted Banerjee.

The TMC leadership has announced several programs including flash hoisting ceremonies across the state to celebrate the occasion on Tuesday. They have also held public meetings to make people more of the party’s achievement during its two stints in power in Bengal.
