Colonel A K Singh travelling in the train found his suitcase missing at Rangiya station, where the scheduled stop was for five minutes, and army jawans accompanying him rushed to the engine forcing the driver at gunpoint not to move the train further, the sources said.
Army personnel went on rampage in different compartments looking for the lost baggage and refused to let the train move till it was found.
Senior North-east Frontier Railway officials rushed to the spot and assured the army official that all efforts would be made to trace his missing suitcase. Singh told the officials that the suitcase contained important official documents.
The train resumed its journey after a delay of more than an hour.
