A trainee aircraft crashed in the fields in Pune district Monday, injuring a lady pilot.
Bhavika Rathod, a 22-year-old trainee pilot onboard, sustained minor injuries. The incident happened in Kadbanwadi village of Indapur tehsil in Pune district.
The Directorate-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) will probe the incident.
The single-seater plane which belongs to a Baramati-based flying school crashed around 1130 hours.
Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said, “The trainee aircraft crash in Indapur, Pune district is unfortunate. No fatalities have been reported. Praying for the recovery of injured pilot, Bhavika Rathod. The DGCA has commenced an investigation to ascertain the cause of the incident.”
