Two more people were arrested in connection with the serial blasts in and around the Patna rally venue of BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in October last year.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday had arrested two men and their questioning led to the fresh arrests. With this, eight men allegedly involved in the blasts have been arrested.

Anil Pandey and Mohammed Raju were arrested from Uttar Pradesh’s Mirzapur following the questioning of Ahmad Hussain and Farkruddin, who were nabbed on Monday. Raju allegedly purchased explosives from Pandey, NIA sources said. All the four people will be produced before a court in Patna on Wednesday.

Five blasts were reported from inside and outside Gandhi Maidan in Patna on October 27 in which eight people, including a suspected terrorist of the banned Indian Mujahideen (IM), were killed.

Four people, including Mohammed Imtiyaz Ansari who was apprehended by the public when he, along with another IM accused, was assembling bombs inside a toilet at railway station in Patna, were arrested earlier.
