An FIR was registered against Neha at the Hazratganj police station in Lucknow on Sunday night after one Abhay Singh lodged a complaint accusing her of using her social media accounts to foment communal tension and making ‘anti-national’ statements.

Neha, who had shot into limelight during the lockdown following Covid 19 pandemic when she released a video containing a folk song in which she sharply criticised the UP government, had released a video on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) purportedly saying that the Pahalgam terror attack was the result of the government’s failure and that the BJP would use it to gain votes in the upcoming assembly polls in Bihar.

‘’Those who claimed to stop war between two countries (Russia-Ukraine) with a phone call, failed to prevent terrorist incident in their own country.....some tell me not to do politics and ask questions on this issue.....what issues should I ask questions on when the country’s politics revolve around Hindu-Muslim and the people are being killed in terrorist attacks,’’ she said in the video.

Reports said that Neha’s video was being shared from Pakistan social media handles.

Reacting to the FIR, Neha sought help from the lawyers saying that she had a few hundred rupees in her bank account.
