Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Friday demanded that the state government must immediately make public the status of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Uttar Pradesh.
In a social media post, Akhilesh also expressed serious concern over ‘excessive’ workload on the booth level officers (BLO) and demanded deployment of more personnel in the SIR exercise.
‘’The government should disclose how much work under the SIR has been completed so far…..this data must be made public today itself,’’ he said.
The SP leader also alleged that there was a "conspiracy to ‘remove’ the names of PDA (pichda, dalit, alpsankhyak) community members from the electoral rolls. ‘’It should be investigated thoroughly,’’ he added.
Akhilesh said that the people associated with the ruling party were ‘interfering’ with the SIR exercise. ‘’Such interference must be stopped forthwith,’’ he said.
The SIR was currently going in the state and according to the official sources, around 12.69 forms had been digitized. The BLOs have successfully done the digitization work on 28,491 booths, sources said.
The state chief electoral officer Navdeep Rinwa appealed to all the eligible voters in the state to fill their forms and submit the same with the BLO without waiting for the last date.
