A young man in Uttar Pradesh has been seen carrying a 10-foot-long crocodile in a video that has gone viral on social media.
The incident reportedly took place in the Hamirpur district there.
The video shows the crocodile lying on the man's shoulders, who carries the creature for relocation. As per forest department officials, the crocodile was spotted in October in a pond in a village there, and spread panic among locals since the reptile was huge in size, Hindustan Times reported.
Villagers, terrified of the reptile's size, avoided going near the pond for water, afraid of an attack. When the crocodile did not leave the pond, locals reported the matter to the forest department.
The authorities arrived there and tracked the crocodile for days and with help of locals, worked around the clock to capture it. They were finally able to catch the crocodile and the video shows the man who works for the forest department carrying the animal.
He was tasked with transporting the crocodile back to the Yamuna, its natural habitat.
"The video of a young man carrying a crocodile on his shoulder is rapidly going viral on social media. A giant crocodile had been terrorising the village for the past three weeks. After three weeks of close monitoring, the forest department team and experts caught the crocodile," the post caption read.
The other clip showed the forest department official holding the crocodile down after capturing it, while other -- as mentioned -- showed the man walking away with it on his shoulders.
