Heat wave conditions intensified in Uttar Pradesh with mercury touching almost 46 degrees at some places on Monday.

Hot winds, known as “loo”, and high temperatures kept people indoors during the day.
According to the Met office here, the highest temperature of 45.6 degree Celsius was recorded at Banda. Temperature also rose significantly in Agra, Varanasi, Allahabad, Meerut and other places.

The Met office said that there would be no respite from the heat wave in the next few days.As many as 40 people have so far lost their lives from heat stroke in different parts of the state.
