An FIR has been registered after a video purportedly showing cricket players singing the Pakistani national anthem during a tournament in Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir went viral on social media.

The police has called the players and organisers of the event, which was held on Sunday, for questioning.

"We have registered an FIR in connection with the incident and investigations are on," Director General of Police S P Vaid told PTI.

The police action came after the video showed members of the cricket team dressed in Pakistani team uniform and singing the national anthem of the neighbouring country before the state of a match.

"We have to look at various aspects of the case ...first of all the authenticity of the video has to be verified," Vaid added.
