A social media post criticising a group of six women singing on a cruise in Vietnam while others onboard were quietly enjoying the view outside has drawn attention of internet users. Shared by X user Deedy (Debarghya Das), who is identified as a Kolkata-born technologist and venture capitalist, the short video post showed the ladies, believed to be in their 50s, enjoying their moment on the cruise by singing Bollywood songs. However, Das alleged that they were too "loud". Labelling them as "aunties", he called out the group on X.

Das, who was on the cruise, slammed them for spoiling his experience on the vessel. "Insane experience with people with zero civic sense when traveling in Vietnam," he wrote.

Taking hundreds of selfies to doing makeup, Das's post listed down suggesting their behaviour was out of place.

He called out at them singing at the public lounge. He described the space to be otherwise silent.

Das shared that the crew reached out but they didn't oblige.

"They start SINGING full volume bollywood songs in the quiet lounge. Everyone else sits in stunned silence...crew tries to shut them down aunties completely immune," the post read further.

The incident took place on Ha Long Bay cruise in Vietnam. The identities of the women aren't confirmed, but media reports mention them as Indians.

Meanwhile, Das stated that they claimed knowing noted Indian actor and producer Anil Kapoor "personally."

Internet reacts

When the X post surfaced online, netizens didn't stay calm. They commented to express their views on the Vietnam cruise incident. Das was closely schooled by netizens, who wrote, "Get a life and let them live a life" in replies.

"Sorry but thats how people enjoy on a vacation in a public lounge on a cruise ...no one really goes there to sit silently and stare at each other," one user wrote.

"Let aunties have fun. If I'm the ship staff, I will find them a more private room to sit. Usually in China you can see large restaurants all have private dinning rooms, it's the same price as none private shared big room, as they considered this. They can sing whatever they want," said another.

"They are on vacation it seems not mourning. Looks like you were alone in holidays. You were alone and jealous nothing else. Vacation means enjoy of you are not enjoying then whats the point going in group," read another reply.

However, a few comments seconded the investor's point.
