A batch of 1,860 pilgrims left Jammu on Friday morning for their onward journey to Baltal base camp. Despite the inclement weather, the pilgrimage continued from Baltal route.

However, the yatra was stopped from Jammu due to the hostile weather conditions. No pilgrim was allowed to proceed towards Kashmir during the last three days. As the weather conditions improved, the state government decided to allow the pilgrims to move from Jammu to Srinagar. Among the pilgrims which left Jammu 1,139 were sadhus, 619 women and 102 children. They left in 54 vehicles from the base camp at Bhagwati Nagar in Jammu during the wee hours of  morning.
