Reality TV show star Kim Kadarshian and her sister Khloe Kadarshian, who attended the wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in July 2024, said that they were surprised after receiving a wedding invitation which weighed about 18-22 kg, for which the duo travelled halfway around the world.

According to reports, Kim in an episode of The Kadarshians admitted that she didn't knew the Ambani family, saying, "I actually don’t know the Ambanis. We definitely have friends in common."

She explained that jewellery designer Lorraine Schwartz had designed jewellery for the Ambanis and that they were interested in inviting the Kadarshians to the wedding.

"Lorraine Schwartz is one of our good friends. She is a jeweller. She does jewellery for the Ambani family. She told me she was going to their wedding, and they would love to invite you, and we just went on a whim and said 'sure'," Kim said.

Kim's sister Khloe discussed about the wedding invitation and said, "Even the invitation that we received was 40-50 pounds and it had music coming out of it. It was crazy so I think when we saw the invitation, we were like, you don’t say no to something like this."

Kim and her sister wore lehengas which were designed by Manish Malhotra, pairing it with diamond and emerald jewellery.

Kim had also shared pictures from her visit to India.

Kim posted pictures of her dressed in red outfit that's accessorised with a matching veil, emerald headband and bracelet.

The post also featured her posing alongside Isha Ambani and the newlyweds Anant and Radhika. She captioned the post, "Indian has my" and added a heart emoji along.

Global celebrities, business tycoons, cricketers, film stars and politicians of all hues attended the wedding on July 12, 2024, at the Ambani-family-owned Jio World Centre at Mumbai's BKC and a 'blessing ceremony' for friends and family members titled 'Shubh Ashirwad' on the following day.

It also witnessed performances by several international artists. Anant is the son of Asia's richest man Mukesh Ambani and Radhika is the daughter of pharma tycoons Viren and Shaila Merchant.

A wide range of guests - from employees to business associates - were invited for another reception, titled 'Mangal Utsav', at the same venue. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also visited the venue to bless the couple.

Three different invitations were sent out for the wedding and the receptions with top-run guests being sent a large red box that contained an intricate chest incorporating a mini silver temple featuring gold idols of various Hindu deities, including Lord Ganesh, Radha-Krishna, and Goddess Durga.

The invitation revealed different cards for each wedding function with one crafted from silver and resembling the main gate of an ancient temple. It included several keepsakes, such as an embroidered cloth with the initials 'AR' for Anant and Radhika, a blue shawl and a silver box filled with more gifts.

The simplest invitation was in a laptop-sized box with silver statues of three Gods and invitation cards.
