Chennai: An Indigo flight from Puducherry to Bengaluru with 70 passengers on board aborted takeoff at the runway of the Puducherry Airport after the pilot noticed a technical snag in the aircraft.
The flight, whose passengers included BJP general secretary Tarun Chugh, BJP Puducherry in-charge Nirmal Kumar Surana, and former Puducherry Health Minister Malladi Krishna Rao, was cancelled after the snag was noticed.
It is said that immediately after the flight was ready for take off, a passenger notice faulty air conditioning system and reported it to the crew. The pilot announced that the flight was cancelled due to a technical snag.
The ATR-72 aircraft took from Bengaluru and landed on Monday morning following which it made a round trip to Hyderabad. The flight was to fly to Bengaluru on its return journey.
Puducherry Airport Director Rajasekhara Reddy confirmed the cancellation of the Indigo flight to Bengaluru. However, the airline didn’t issue any statement.
