Within a span of one year of launch on the Apple App Store, Clubhouse has steadily grown popular around the world. Yes, it did get a little bit of fillip from billionaires Elon Musk and Bill Gates with exclusive interviews on this platfom; But, the unique theme of just listening to the discussion between experts is a really good concept.
So far, Clubhouse has managed to register more than 12 million downloads. It should be noted the figure is related only to the iOS platform and the company is yet to make the app available for Android phones.
This apparently leaves more space for other rivals brands to introduce Clubhouse-like drop-in audio chatrooms on their social messenger apps on the Android platform, which by the way has more than 80 per cent market share.
Already, Twitter and Facebook-owned Instagram have commenced testing the audio room feature on their respective apps. Now, another competitor Telegram too has joined the race.
In the latest Telegram beta version, the company has introduced the voice chat feature, reported WABetaInfo, developer community.
It can be streamed on the Telegram channel so that more users can join the voice chat room. Telegram offers a group limit of 200,000, much more than any other messenger app in the market.
If the voice chat room does comes to Telegram, it is certain to steal the thunder of Clubhouse, which offers two invites per user. Also, for celebrities, the streaming limit is maxed to a little over 5,000. This number is based on Elon Musk's interview on the Clubhouse app last month.
