The top two seeds, Aayush P Bhat and Monil Lotilkar will clash in an all-Karnataka boys’ final in the ANT-AITA under-14 Championship Series tennis tournament here on Friday.
In Thursday’s semifinals, Bhat defeated third seed K S Kavin Karthik of Tamil Nadu 6-3, 7-6 (2) while Monil rallied to beat his brother and the fourth seed Ronin Lotlikar 3-6, 7-5 6-2 in an absorbing tussle which lasted over two and half hours.
In the girls’ section, local girl and top seed Lakshanya Vishwanath took her spot in the final with a facile 6-2, 6-1 win over her unseeded State-mate Yashomati while in an all-Tamil Nadu face-off, SR Ananya beat A Naga Roshini 6-3, 6-0 in the other semifinal.
Meanwhile, Karnataka pair of Suhita Marri and Vidyul Manikanti bagged the girls’ doubles title beating Tamil Nadu duo of A Naga Roshini and Ananya 2-6, 7-6 (3), 10-4 in the final.
