Indrasen Dani’s all-round performance spurred Dharwad Zone to a comfortable 47-run win over Mangalore Zone in the KSCA under-19 inter-mofussil tournament here.
Half centuries from Angadraj Hittalmani (50) and Dani (69 n.o.) propelled Dharwad to 208 for eight in their allotted 50 overs.
For Mangalore, Vidwath Kaverappa grabbed two wickets for 14 runs, while Abhishek Shetty returned figures of two for 36.
Having to chase at just over four runs an over, Mangalore were halted by Shubham Gondkar (4/28), Akash Katamble (2/27) and Dani (2/36) as they fell short of the target by 47 runs.
Anirudh Aravind’s effort of 55 and Keith Pinto’s cameo of 33 went in vain for Mangalore.
In the other game, bowlers performed admirably to help Mysore Zone register an eight-wicket win over Shimoga Zone.
Thushar Harikrishna (4/26) and Saishiv Narayan (3/16) shared seven wickets between them to help Mysore bowl out Shimoga for 149 in 24.5 overs. In reply, Mysore overhauled the target (152/2) in just 52.2 overs.
