Army Service Corps (ASC) clinched the four-goal ARPA title beating Indian Navy Polo and Equestrian Club 2.5-2 in the Bangalore Polo Season here on Sunday.

ASC came in to the game with a slender half goal of handicap advantage as Indian Navy had a marginally superior team handicap of plus four when compared to ASC’s plus three.
In an evenly matched first chukker that failed to produce a single goal, both teams cancelled each other out in attack and defence.

It was in the second chukker that the game came into life, with Cdr Akhil Sirohi scoring for Navy while Col NS Khera scoring for the servicemen. Khera’s goal gave ASC the advantage at 1.5-1 going in to the third chukker.

Major Prithvi gave the Army Service Corps a bigger lead by scoring in the third chukker, in which Navy couldn't find a way past Aarmy Service Corp's defence.

Indian Navy then found a glimmer of hope in the fourth chukker as Sirohi scored his second goal of the game but a resolute ASC team held off to clinch the trophy.

The second tournament of the Bangalore Polo Season, the six-goal Gyan Jyoti Cup, will begin on August 24 at the Agram Ground and will feature professional players with a polo handicap.
