The victorious Karnataka Ranji Trophy team was felicitated by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at his official residence Krishna here on Friday evening.

The R Vinay Kumar-led team had defeated Maharashtra by seven wickets in the final to win the tournament for the seventh time on Sunday, after a gap of 15 years.

Soon after the victory, Siddaramaiah had announced a cash award of Rs 1 crore for the champion side.

Speaking on the occasion, Vinay thanked the CM for honouring the team and requested him to allot BDA sites for each member of the squad. KSCA secretary Brijesh Patel asked if the CM could cut the entertainment tax levied during IPL and international matches.

The CM said he will look into both the requests. KSCA president PR Ashokanand and treasurer Dayanand Pai were also present on the occasion.
