The Committee of Administrators (CoA) has expressed its displeasure over the non-compliance of state associations in following the procedure for the release of funds.
It however, said that “adequate mechanisms” have been put in place for them to enable direct payment to the third party for cricket operations.
The CoA has been flooded with requests for the release of funds by various associations for the upcoming cricket season. Recently, Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) had expressed difficulty in participating in Ranji Trophy due to paucity of funds. The committee, in its order last October, had restrained the BCCI from the releasing funds to the non-compliant state associations.
In a letter to the state associations, CoA listed the reforms that needed to be complied with for the release of funds which was already communicated to them via email on June 13, 2017. The Supreme Court appointed committee however, assured no hindrance in conduct of international matches in the state venues.
“...most State Associations have not complied with the requirements. Nevertheless, payments have been made (and will continue to be made) to State Associations for conduct of Test Matches and one day internationals in compliance with the order dated 24th March 2017 passed by the Honourable Supreme Court.”
