The Men in Blue are back in action today as they take on the Bangla Tigers in their search for a fourth straight win at the ICC World Cup 2023. So far New Zealand are the only team with four wins out of four and Rohit Sharma will be eager to emulate that record and grab top spot away from the Kiwis on the Points Table.

Team India's World Cup 2023 campaign so far...
India began their World Cup campaign with a dominant six-wicket win over the five-time champions Australia. India lost both openers and Shreyas Iyer on ducks in that game but Virat Kohli (85) and KL Rahul (97*) stood up and made the difference.
The Men in Blue had a relatively move comfortable outing in the next game as they beat Afghanistan by eight wickets. Jasprit Bumrah took 4/39 to help restrict Afghanistan to just 272. Rohit Sharma then slammed 131 off 84 balls to help chase it down in just 35 overs.
India's last result was arguably their most dominant as they tamed Babar Azam's Pakistan, winning by seven wickets. The bowlers had a field day out as they restricted Pakistan to just 191. Mumbai boys Rohit (83) and Shreyas Iyer (53*) made light work of that total as they chased it down in just 30.3 overs.
Toss: Bangladesh win toss, opt to bat
Major blow for Bangladesh as Shakib Al Hasan isn't fit to play so Najmul Shanto stands in as captain. The talismanic captain and all-rounder will be difficult to replace in the line-up.

Team India's Rohit Sharma was fined for reckless driving on the Pune expressway by the Maharashtra Police. The star batter was on his way to Pune from Mumbai in his Lamborghini to join the Indian cricket team for their fourth match against Bangladesh.

Pitch Report: Maharashtra Cricket Stadium, Pune
Sanjay Manjrekar and Irfan Pathan reckon that It's a good pitch, which has a history of lot of runs. It's a pitch where the seamers wouldn't mind bowling first up or maybe under lights as well.
They don't think it'll turn much and Pathan says it's a 'definition of true pitch' which means you can bat really well and if you are a quality fast bowler, you get something out of it as well.
It's a black soil pitch, there's grass covering which is not green. It'll hold the pitch nicely. They predict it's going to be a high-scoring game for sure. We should see regular use of the bouncer on this pitch. Pathan predicts, "if anyone will get turn, it's Kuldeep Yadav."

That was a good bowling display from India on a relatively flat track to restrict Bangladesh to just 256/8. The Bangla Tigers got off to an excellent start with a 93-run opening stand.
Kuldeep Yadav (1/47) got the breakthrough with the wicket of Tanzid Hasan (51). Kuldeep and Jadeja (2/38) then helped choke Bangladesh with some smart bowling in the middle overs. Jadeja also nabbed the important wicket of Litton Das (66) who looked dangerous.
Siraj (2/60) and Bumrah (2/41) provided timely breakthroughs as well with Shardul Thakur (1/59) also featuring among the wickets.
The only worry for India will be the injury sustained by Hardik Pandya who seemed to twist his ankle when bowling his first over and he never returned to the field.

I think wicket looks very good, there was no turn on the wicket, if we play simple cricket, we can chase it. (On the celebration after the catch) The celebration was dedicated to our fielding coach. After every game, we get best fielder award and so I wanted to show the fielding coach, see I am here. I would say flat wicket, ball was coming nicely onto the bat, hopefully our batters can bat well in the middle and chase it down. Rahul (34*) who couldn't get his hundred against Australia as he ran out of runs to score, ensured Kohli doesn't feel the same pain as him.
Earlier in the game, Rohit Sharma (48) provided a quick start before Shubman Gill (53*) brought up his maiden World Cup half-century. India are always a very good side, a very capable team and they showed it today. All teams are good, but I think we didn't play our best cricket, hopefully, we'll play better in the future. It was a good win, something we were looking forward to. We didn't start well, but the guys pulled it back in the middle-overs and at the back-end. Our fielding has been superb in all these matches, it's something that's in your control, you can put in your best effort. The bowlers were smart to understand what lengths to bowl. Jaddu was brilliant with the ball and the catch, but you can't beat a hundred. We're doing well as a group, a medal for all performances in the playing field and that's something which motivates everyone to do well. He (Hardik) pulled up a bit sore, nothing really major. We'll see how he pulls up tomorrow morning and then plan on how to go forward.
