Australia will have to dust off the cobwebs but are still fancied to successfully defend their World Test Championship (WTC) crown against equally ring-rusty South Africa in the final at Lord’s in London, starting on Wednesday, June 11.
The five-day clash comes on the heels of a plethora of limited overs cricket over the last five months and both teams have been scrambling to prepare for a high-profile return to the red-ball game.
Australia have not played a Test since beating Sri Lanka in Galle in February when they made sure of a top-two finish in the standings from results for the 2023-25 WTC cycle.
South Africa were assured of top place when they won their last Test against Pakistan at home in January to book a first-ever finals appearance.
With less than a day remaining for the high-profile clash at Lord's, we take a look at all you need to know about timings, TV channels, and livestreams.
The WTC final between Australia and South Africa will begin at 3.30 pm IST (11 am GMT) on Wednesday, June 11.
On Day 1 of the clash, the toss will take place 30 minutes before the match begins, at 3 pm IST (10.30 am GMT).
The Australia vs South Africa WTC final will be telecast on the Star Sports Network in India.
The WTC final between Australia and South Africa will be livestreamed in India by JioHotstar and can be watched either from a browser or the mobile app.
While earlier, in 2021 and 2023, a prize money of $1.6 million was reserved for winners and half of that, $800,000, was reserved for runners-up, the International Cricket Council (ICC) recently hiked the prize money substantially.
This time, the champions will take home a whopping $3.6 million, while the runners-up will earn $2.16 million.
