Former India opener Virender Sehwag would be felicitated by Board of Control for Cricket in India before the start of the fourth Test against South Africa at his home ground Feroz Shah Kotla stadium on Wednesday.
However, DDCA would not be the part of the felicitation programme as it was officially intimated by the BCCI only on Tuesday. DDCA, though, would be commemorating Sehwag’s feat with a special gesture during the Test match. The association also has plans to felicitate Sehwag, who had left the association to play for Haryana this year.
BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur would be present on the occasion. Sehwag’s family, including wife and mother, would be attending the brief function.
Sehwag announced his retirement on October 20, his 37th birthday, after being out of the national reckoning for two years. He had last played for the national side in the Hyderabad Test against Australia in March 2013.
