A two-week long camp, with its accent on fitness, for the emerging bowlers commenced here at the National Cricket Academy on Monday.

The 20-member group includes the likes of Jammu and Kashmir’s off-spinning all-rounder Parvez Rasool, young paceman Mohit Sharma, both of whom are part of India’s ODI tour of Zimbabwe this month. Having earlier attended a skill-based camp at the academy, the bowlers will now mainly focus on their fitness in the present camp.

Concurrently, another camp for above-19 players has begun with former India players -- left-arm spinner Sunil Joshi, wicketkeeper Deep Dasgupta and and all-rounder Sanjay Bangar -- being the coaches. “This camp is meant for those players, who have just crossed 19 and cannot be part of under-19 camps while they are also too young for under-25 camps. The focus will be on skills and fitness,” Joshi said.

Karnataka all-rounder Shreyas Gopal and batsman Rohan Kadam are part of this camp.
Emerging bowlers’ camp: Sandeep Sharma, Mohit Sharma, Suraj Yadav, Ishwar Pandey, Siddarth Kaul, Imtiaz Ahmed, Sandeep Warrier, Ankit Rajput, Rishi Dhawan, Sarabjit Ladda, Shreekant Wagh, Aniket Choudhary, Rakesh Dhurve, Shahbaz Nadeem, Parvez Rasool, Akshay Darekar, Karan Sharma, Jalaj Saxena, Dhawal Kulkarni, Kamlesh Makvana.
