Gambhir, who has played 25 Tests and 78 ODIs, shared some light moments with the children, who are suffering from the neurological disorder, at the Action for Autism’s Open Door School.

The left-hander also inaugurated a 32-seater bus, donated by NGO The Special Child Trust (TSCT) to the school, at a brief ceremony.

“I did not have much idea about autism earlier. I think, it’s inspirational to see how these children are fighting their problems. There should be more public awareness about the disorder,” Gambhir said.

Autism impairs one’s communication skills and lasts throughout the life. The programme was organised jointly by TSCT and Action for Autism.
