Harbhajan said the ‘Doosra’ was a potent weapon in an off-spinner’s armoury and could not be ignored.
“Maybe this is the view in Australia and I have nothing to do with it,” Harbhajan said. “In rest of the cricket-playing countries, including India, every player wants to add variations to his bowling and I think all youngsters should learn it.”
Harbhajan and Muttiah Muralitharan remain the two major exponents of the ‘doosra’. Pakistani all-rounder Shoaib Malik also bowls the ‘doosra’ as does South African Johan Botha. All four had their actions reported at some point in their career.
Harbhajan’s also said Rahul Dravid’s possible return to the Indian one-day squad would boost the team’s morale.
