India’s in-form opener Rohit Sharma was taken for an x-ray on Sunday morning after picking up a toe-injury while facing Mohammad Aamir during the Asia Cup contest against Pakistan.

The Saturday’s contest against the arch-rivals saw Aamir bowl a fiery opening over that cost two Indian wickets of Rohit and Ajinkya Rahane.

Rahane, in fact, had got the chance to open the innings after regular opener Shikhar Dhawan was sidelined following a left-ankle sprain during the team warm-up.
Rohit was hit by the toe-cruncher off Aamir. It is understood while the x-ray report has ruled out fracture, he continues to have soreness.

The Indian team official said he was undergoing a rehab and a call on his availability would be taken in due time.

India next play Sri Lanka on Tuesday.
