With his European Tour card in jeopardy, Shiv, a 10th tee starter, had a flawless back nine and the Delhi golfer had his brief moment in the lead when he finished this stretch at four under.

In this stretch, Shiv birdied the 12th and 14th holes and then fired an eagle on the 18th to find himself rubbing shoulders with eventual leader Peter Lawrie (136). The Delhi golfer birdied the first and ninth hole as well but the fourth hole triple bogey, preceded by a dropped shot, undid some of the good work he did earlier.

Currently lying 127th in the European Tour Order of Merit, Shiv needs to make it to the 115 in order to save his card. Randhawa, on the other hand, faltered when it mattered most.
The European tour regular followed his strong opening round of 71 with a four-over 76 to crash out after the cut line was set at 144.

Kolkata pro Chowrasia (148) also made a hasty exit after returning his second successive round of 74.
