The mediamen were taking pictures from the media truck when the backpanel of the vehicle opened out, sending them tumbling onto the road. Srikanta Sharma R (Deccan Herald), Syed Asif (Times of India), Selva Prakash (DNA), Vinod Karimat (India Express) and Faheem (Bangalore News Photos) suffered bruises while Venkatesh P (Kasturi TV), fractured his leg. The organisers tendered an apology.
