As per the deal, the Mumbai Indians team jersey will sport Hero Honda logo on the front. It, however, did not specify the tenure of the sponsorship deal.
"With our new partner and inspiring additions to the Mumbai Indians family, we look forward to recreate the magic with 'Desh Ki Dhadkan hum duniya hila denge'," a Mumbai Indians spokesperson said.
Captained by Sachin Tendulkar, Mumbai Indians has cricketers such as Andrew Symonds, Rohit Sharma, Harbhajan Singh, Lasith Malinga and Kieron Pollard in the team.
Commenting on the tie up, a Hero Honda spokesperson said: "As in every other sphere of our sports-related initiatives, we keep looking for new and exciting opportunities to bring joy and cheer to the fans."
In keeping with this spirit, we have joined hands with the Mumbai Indians – the most exciting IPL team with its impressive line-up of cricketing stars, the spokesperson added.
Hero Honda was earlier sponsoring the Delhi Daredevils.
