Bangalore Occasionals clinched the KSCA Group I, Division I League tournament for the Sir Mirza Ismail Shield after drawing their final game against Jawans Cricket Club.

Bangalore Occasionals, needing to take just an innings lead to secure the title, did just that to top the standings with 32 points after 11 games. Vultures Cricket Club, despite trouncing The Bangalore Cricketers by an innings and 40 runs, finished runners-up on 30 points.

Batting first, Bangalore Occasionals rode on Darshan Patil’s unbeaten 104 and half-centuries from Mir Kayan Abbas (69), Abdul Majid (73) and Mir Kaunain Abbas (90) to post 454/6 in 90 overs.

Pradeep T then grabbed (6/79) as they bowled out Jawans for 308 in 66 overs. Abhijit S slammed an even 100 for Jawans.
