Former Test left-arm pacer Karsan Ghavri has also submitted his resignation papers to the rebel league, sources in the know of developments said.

“All four have quit ICL and are awaiting the No Objection Certificate from them to fulfill the BCCI’s recently announced amnesty scheme for players and others connected with the rebel league,” they said.

While it’s not clear what stand the ICL would take on the issue, sources were optimistic that they would be released from their contractual obligations by May 20.

Patil and Sandhu were coaches attached to different ICL teams while Wadekar, who led India to Test series triumphs in the West Indies and England in 1971, and Ghavri were on the panel of mentors.

The BCCI, at its last Working Committee meeting here, decided to give a time-bound amnesty to all those connected with the ICL to get out of their contracts on or before May 31 if they wished to get back into the official fold.
