Pobbathi takes early lead in tenpin Natls

 Former champion Srinath Pobbathi of Karnataka took the early lead in the Amoeba 27th National Tenpin Bowling Championship here on Tuesday.

At the end of the first block of 6 games of Round I, Pobbathi topped the standings with a total pinfall of 1228 for an average of 204.67.

Former national champion Shabbir Dhankot of Tamil Nadu is placed second with a total pinfall of 1196. Dhankot is followed by defending champion Dhurv Sarda of Delhi (1195) and Parvez Ahmed of Karnataka (1191).

Srinath started the day steadily with a score of 191 in Game 1 and followed it up with the high scores of 266, 211 and 213 in Game 2, 3 and 4 respectively. He could not adjust to change in lane conditions in Games 5 and 6, scoring 172 and 175.

All men bowlers will bowl their second block of 6 games in medium oil condition and top 40 bowlers, based on total pinfall of 12 games, will move to Round 2.
