For weeks, there has been speculation that Apple would host the Spring event on March 23. Going by the previous launch pattern, the Cupertino-based company should have sent out media invites a week prior to the programme, but we are only a few days away from the rumoured D-Day and so far, there is no official word on it.

Now, the acclaimed technology journalist Mark Gurman of Bloomberg citing confidential sources inside Apple has revealed that the company is indeed planning a Spring event, but it is happening in April.

Gurman says Apple has readied a powerful next-generation iPad Pro, which will come with an M1-like chipset.

The M1-powered MacBook Pro, Air, and Mac mini have received rave reviews all around the world for the exemplary performance, power efficiency and also long battery life in their respective segments. We believe, Apple will likely christen the chipset as A14X Bionic.

The new iPad Pro promises to offer buttery smooth performance be it video editing or play graphics-rich games. Also, it will have upgraded camera hardware and come in two screen sizes 11.0-inch and 12.9-inch sizes similar to the predecessor. Gurman adds that Apple may use a new type of display- mini LED- for the bigger model to offer a brighter and contrast ratio.

Another interesting aspect of the upcoming iPad Pro (2021) series is that it may come with a Thunderbolt connector. It will offer a seamless connection to external displays (via Sidecar feature), storage hard drives, and other accessories. Also, it promises faster data transfer.

There is no word on AirTags nor the new AirPod Pro, but they are also likely to launch along with the iPad Pro next month.

Apple has plans to bring the successor to iPad (8th gen) later this year. It is expected to come with a slimmer body design and improved processor hardware. It is aimed at students for online classes.

Also, the Cupertino-based firm has plans to bring a new iPad mini with a bigger display with Apple Pencil support. The current generation iPad mini features 7.9-inch.

Apple will be bringing new iPhones and Watches in the second half of 2021, most probably in the September-October timeline.
