Microsoft has launched a new experimental generative Artificial Intelligence (gen AI) tool in its Copilot AI app.
The new free-to-use Copilot AI tool can be used to turn any two-dimensional image into a three-dimensional model. Initially, the Copilot app will support PNG or JPG files, and they have to be under 10MB in size only.
As there is no need to pay a premium to install 3D software, it is a good tool for tech enthusiasts to experiment with new ideas, test a concept, or edit multimedia content.
The 3D multimedia content created by Copilot will be available for download in GLB format and can be incorporated in games, animation, 3D printing, design, VR/AR, digital content, art projects, and more.

Further, Microsoft has a library of 3D models in different themes such as vehicles, animated characters, Sci-fi, merchandise, game & film, art & design and more. These templates will be helpful for rookies to explore ideas on what photos can be uploaded to get a nice 3D model. The new tool is now available worldwide, including in India.
Here's how to use Microsoft Copilot 3D:
To use Copilot 3D, navigate to Copilot.com on any browser.
As this is an experimental feature, Microsoft recommends users try Copilot 3D on a desktop computer. However, it is accessible through browser apps on mobile, but the user experience won't be as great as using the desktop version.
