At the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 event (January 7-11) in Las Vegas, Dell made a huge announcement that it will retire the company's iconic PC and monitor sub-brands such as Inspiron, XPS, Precision, Latitude, OptiPlex series
The American computer maker said that brand restructuring was necessitated to simplify the product portfolio and lessen customers' confusion when choosing a particular Dell laptop that meets their needs.
Going forward, Dell, like the Apple iPhone naming convention, will offer PCs in three segments: Dell, Dell Pro, and Dell Pro Max. Each segment will have three subcategories: Base, Plus, and Premium.
The standard Dell is said to be good for regular home use and for school and college students. The Dell Pro will cater to software professionals and corporates.
And, Dell Pro Max, which will come with top-of-the-line hardware, will appeal to graphics designers, video and music editors.
