Temple is an experimental wearable that monitors brain blood flow. Goyal has been testing this device himself for around a year.

About a month ago on his LinkedIn account Goyal had posted about this project.

"I'm not sharing this as the CEO of Eternal, but as a fellow human, curious enough to follow a strange thread. A thread I can’t keep with myself any longer. It’s open-source, backed by science, and shared with you as part of our common quest for scientific progress on human longevity," he wrote in the post.

Adding multiple slides on the research titled 'Is gravity why we age?', Goyal wrote "Newton gave us a word for it. Einstein said it bends spacetime. I am saying gravity shortens lifespan."

The slides mentioned: "Gravity reduces blood flow to the brain, which leads to brain aging."

"An aged brain leads to an aged body."

"I am not saying 'gravity exists' or 'blood flow matters'. Everyone knows that," the post read.

The post further stated, "We are NOT saying that gravity is the only cause of aging. We are only saying it might be a key, fundamental, and overlooked driver that might be the rate-limiter to human longevity. Even if we learn to live better with gravity, we wont defy death. But we might just unlock two, three, or maybe even five more decades of health span."

As per media reports, Temple is still in the experimental phase, and Goyal has put in around Rs 225 crore on it.

After Goyal was recently seen wearing Temple, netizens have started online discussions on it, and are wondering what the device is.

"Wow, the future is here! Deepinder Goyal rocking ‘Temple’—a wearable that tracks brain blood flow. Health-tech is getting next-level futuristic," a user commented on X.

Another user commented, "First reaction: 'what is that thing?' Second thought: 'we laughed at AirPods once too.' The future usually shows up looking a little awkward."

"I am still trying to understand how it was installed. Was it fixed using adhesive from the back, or drilled into place?" commented a third.

However, Temple received varied reactions. Dr Suvrankar Datta, an AI researcher and radiologist from AIIMS Delhi took a dig at Goyal and stated that "the device currently has 0 scientific standing as a useful device."

He further added, "Do not waste your hard earned money to buy fancy toys billionaires can afford to waste money on."
