Xiaomi on Sunday (March 2) launched the premium Android phone Xiaomi 15 series in Barcelona ahead of Mobile World Congress 2025.

It should be noted that the device was first unveiled in China in October 2024 and now, the flagship Android phone will be made available in global markets including in India.

It sports a 6.36-inch 1.5K(2670 x 1200p) M9 12-bit LTPO OLED display with 20:9 aspect ratio, 1-120Hz variable refresh rate and supports up to 3200 nits peak brightness.  It is also protected by Xiaomi Ceramic Glass 2.0 shield and comes with IP68 water-and-dust resistant rating.

It also comes with in-display fingerprint sensor, type-C USB port, infrared sensor, four microphones and dual SIM slots.

Inside, the device is powered by 3nm class Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite, Adreno 830 GPU, Android 15-based Xiaomi HyperOS 2, 12GB / 16GB LPPDDR5x RAM with 256GB / 512GB / 1TB UFS 4.0 storage, and a 5,400mAh battery with 90W wired fast charging and also supports 50W wireless charing and 10W reverse wireless charging as well.

Xiaomi 15 also boasts of triple camera with Leica system— main 50MP (with 1/ 1.31-inch Light Fusion 900 sensor, f/1.62 aperture, Hyper OIS: Optical Image Stabilisation, Leica Summilux lens) +  50MP 115-degree Leica ultra-wide angle camera (with f/2.2) +  50MP (2.6X 10cm to Infinity Leica telephoto camera with f/2.0, OIS) with LED flash, It can record 8K video.

On the front, it has a 32MP camera (with f/2.0) and can record 4K at 60 fps (frames per second) video recording.

The top-end Xiaomi 15 Ultra features a 6.73-inch 2K(3100 x 1440p) M8 12-bit OLED 20:9 LTPO display. It support variable 1-120Hz refresh rate, and offer up to 3,200 nits peak brightness. It is protected by Xiaomi Ceramic Glass 2.0 shield and IP68 water-and-dust resistant rating. 

It also comes with in-display ultra sonic fingerprint sensor, usb type-c port, infrared sensor, four microphones, stereo speakers and dual SIM slots.

The 15 Ultra runs Android 15-based Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0 and is powered by 3nm class Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 3nm SoC with Adreno 830 GPU,  12GB / 16GB LPPDDR5x RAM with 256GB / 512GB / 1TB UFS 4.1 storage and a 6,000mAh battery with 90W wired fast charging, 80W wireless charging, 10W reverse wireless charging capability.

It boasts of Leica-based quad camera module— main 50MP main camera (with 1-inch sensor 14EV native dynamic range, f/1.63 ultra-large aperture, 8P lens, OIS: Optical Image Stabilisation) + 50MP Leica Ultra Wide Angle camera with JN5 image sensor, 115-degree ultra-wide viewing angle, 5cm super macro, f/2.2 ultra-large aperture, 6P lens) + 50MP Leica Telephoto lens (with IMX858 image sensor, f/1.8 ultra-large aperture, 1.4um fused pixels, 3X floating telephoto, 6P lens, telephoto macro) + 200MP Leica super telephoto with 1/1.4-inch HP9 image sensor, f/2.6 ultra-large aperture, 2.24um fused pixels, 4.3x periscope telephoto, 6P lens) with LED flash. It can record 8K videos.

On the front, it houses a 32MP camera (with OmniVision OV32B40 sensor, f/2.0). It can record 4K at 60 fps.

Xiaomi 15 and 15 Ultra prices start at 999 Euros and 1,499 Euros, respectively. They are expected to be launched next week on March 11 in India.
