Google, earlier this year at I/O 2025 in May, showcased its advanced generative Artificial Intelligence (gen AI)-powered Veo 3 video generator.

Now, the video generator has made its way to the general public through the Gemini app. With the new update, Veo 3 has been added to the AI chatbot.

With this, users can generate photorealistic videos with just text prompts. Veo 3 lets users create 8-second videos, including background sounds.

Users can describe the scene by adding characters with speech, and it can be enhanced with background music and sound effects for increased realism.

For instance, you can ask Gemini to generate a video of coffee being poured into a mug and add a creamy layer on it with the Gemini name on it (screenshot below). The app can instantly generate it in a few seconds and will also feature a background sound of liquid flowing into the cup.

Also, users can add images to turn them into videos. It should be noted that all multimedia content generated from the Veo 3 feature will come with a visible watermark in addition to a hidden digital SynthID watermark, which indicates the videos are AI-generated.

This will ensure the video is not misused to defame a person or company. Also, Google will seek feedback from users about the video generated from the text prompt. Users will get thumbs-up and down options to rate the generated video.

It can be noted that Google faced a lot of flak when they first launched their image generator feature Imagen in early 2024, which had several inaccurate representations, particularly related to human faces.

After months of more testing, Google managed to get things right and relaunched the image generator later in the year.

Now, with user feedback, Google wants to improve the Veo feature in future updates.

Access to the Veo 3 feature on the Gemini AI app is limited to Google AI Pro subscribers only. It costs Rs 1,950 per month. As a limited offer, Google offers free trial for one month.

In addition to Veo 3, Google AI Pro users gain access to Notebook LM (for research and writing assistance), Whisk (which converts images to videos), Flow (a film-making tool), and 2TB of cloud storage.
