Google was rumoured to bring a new digital assistant dubbed as 'Pixie' with the Pixel 9 series in 2024. But, it never materialised.
Now, a new report has emerged that the search engine giant is ready with the advanced digital assistant and would come with the Pixel 10 series later this year.
Android Authority, citing a company insider, has revealed that the Pixie feature will be coming with a new name, Pixel Sense.
The Pixel Sense will work on-device and will come deeply integrated with all the core Google apps such as Gmail, YouTube, Maps, Sheets, Docs,Keep Notes, Messages, Phone dialer app, Wallet, Screenshot, YouTube Music, Recorder, Contacts, Chrome browser and more in the Pixel phones.
As time passes, it will continuously learn to understand the owner's behaviour and phone usage pattern of the owner. With that data, it will be able to deliver personalised recommendations to queries with proper context. And, also be able to complete the task faster with less hassle.
The Pixel Sense will work fully on-device and will not connect with any cloud server to process and respond a query. This way the personal information will never leave the phone and cannot be accessed by anybody, including Google itself.
Also, the Pixel Sense is expected to run on Gemini Nano generative Artificial Intelligence (gen AI) model. As the name suggests, Pixel Sense is expected to be exclusive to Pixel phones.
Going by Pixel 9 series launch, the Pixel 10 is likely to make its debut in August 2025.
There is no word on whether Google has plans to offer the same service to other Android phones.
