In early 2023, Google launched the company's generative Artificial Intelligence (gen AI) assistant Bard, which was later renamed as Gemini.
Since then, Google has improved the Gemini AI assistant and integrated it with several of the premium services, including Gmail and, Google Workspace suite of applications, to improve the users' productivity.
It is also capable of understanding different forms of inputs such as words, images and videos to interact with the user. Gemini-powered apps are capable of churning out images and even videos with just text.
Now, Google Deepmind has announced the new Gemini 2.5 Pro, the company's most advanced gen AI model to date. It is capable of reasoning through their thoughts before responding, resulting in enhanced performance and improved accuracy.
The latest Gemini 2.5 Pro tops the LMArena leaderboard.
For the uninitiated, LMArena is an open crowdsourced platform. Developed by researchers at UC Berkeley SkyLab and LMSYS (Large Model Systems Organization), LMArena generates live rankings of Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI chatbots based on human preference using the Bradley-Terry model.
Gemini 2.5 Pro can understand and solve the toughest mathematical problems. Also, it can even write complex coding to create and test apps.
Google says Gemini 2.5 Pro can create a video game by producing the executable code from a single line prompt.
Gemini 2.5 Pro is now accessible on Google AI Studio and in the Gemini app for Gemini Advanced users and will be coming to the Vertex AI model soon.
In a related development, OpenAI launched a new feature for ChatGPT-4o. It uses new technology designed to generate images from detailed, complex and unusual instructions.
