American semiconductor giant Qualcomm has launched a new Snapdragon X silicon in India.

The latest Snapdragon X series chipset is specifically designed for budget computers to run generative Artificial Intelligence (gen AI) features smoothly. It is considerably less expensive than the Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus, which power top-end Copilot AI PCs offered by Asus, Lenovo, Microsoft, Acer, HP, Dell and more.

The Snapdragon X chipset can support 45 TOPS (trillion operations per second) of AI performance. It utilises the Qualcomm Oryon CPU cores to deliver up to 163 per cent faster performance than most of its rival chipsets which also require 168 per cent more power.

PCs with Snapdragon X can support 5G and Wi-Fi 7 for faster internet connectivity and consume less power to offer day-long battery life. It also comes integrated with the Snapdragon Sound Technology Suite to deliver immersive, high-fidelity audio for wireless listening.

Furthermore, Snapdragon X comes incorporated with robust privacy features, enabling comprehensive protection from chip to cloud.
