On Sunday (September 28), a X platform user citing his college friend working in Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), said that the company was cutting 80,000 jobs in India.
The message came just after TCS officially revealed that it had to let go of 12,000 plus employees in July .
The tweet on the X platform gained traction, and fear gripped several software professionals, not just in TCS, but also in other technology corporate firms.
The tweet said that several employees were given a severance package for 18 months, and some got up to three months of termination pay. And, a few unfortunate employees did not even get any compensation.
However, TCS has formally dismissed the rumours of large-scale sacking of employees in its company in India.
