WhatsApp is one of the most popular messenger apps on all platforms (iOS, Android and Windows), and has more than two billion active users.

Some of the primary reasons people love WhatsApp are - it is simple to use and comes with several value-added features such as the option to turn photos into stickers, custom lists for groups and private conversations.

Earlier this year, the company also introduced the generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) feature Meta AI, which can draft personalised messages and churn out photo-realistic images.

Now, the Meta-owned entity is planning to bring human chat assistance to the messenger app, reported WABetaInfo, citing the latest WhatsApp web beta app.

As you can see in the screenshot below, WhatsApp offers a 'Chat with us' option, where users can directly interact with human customer care personnel for any problems.

Once the user sends a request for connection with customer care, WhatsApp in a follow-up message, will ask the former about what the issue is. WABetaInfo noted that at first, an AI chatbot or automated messenger may respond.

And, after two or three responses, it will offer the option for the user to request a human responder.

Depending on the urgency of the issue, WhatsApp will assign a human person to interact with and resolve the matter.

Currently, users have read through several Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) pages and then are able to get access to human responders.

The upcoming new in-app customer care response feature will greatly help in resolving issues faster than endlessly interacting with just the automated chatbots.
