Generative Artificial Intelligence (gen AI) firm xAI, earlier this week, introduced the Imagine video generation feature in the Grok AI app for iPhones.
Now, the company has expanded the availability of the video generation feature to the Android version of the Grok AI app. Elon Musk confirmed the news on his social media platform X.
Also, Musk added that for a limited time, Grok Imagine video generation is free to all users in the US region.
It comes days after Google announced students in the US, as well as in Japan, Indonesia, Korea, and Brazil, can sign up for a 12-month Google AI Pro plan for free. It is available in India as well.
With the Imagine feature, users can use text or image prompts to create videos. GrokAI will be able to churn out a 15-second video with audio as well.
Grol AI's Imagine feature runs on the xAI's in-house Aurora model. It competes with Google's Veo 3 and ChatGPT's Sora model.
Several people including Musk have shared their creative videos on the X platform. They look pretty good in terms of clarity and resolution.
Some are misusing the Imagine feature to create NSFW semi-nude content through 'Spicy mode'. However, thanks to the built-in moderation feature, the app blurs the sexually explicit videos.
Here are some of the sample videos generated by Grok AI app:
In a related development, Google Gemini AI app can now help users create personalised illustrated digital storybooks.
Users just have to describe a story, and it will generate a personalised storybook with creative art format, along with a script, and offer audio narration as well. For now, it can do up to 10-page digital books. This can greatly help parents narrate stories they heard from their grandparents to their children. There are several hyperlocal moral stories which never make it to commercial children's books.
