Geo News quoted officials as saying that over 50 militants were killed and scores were injured in the operation carried out in Tehsil Saafi and Baizai.
The security forces also pounded militants' hideouts with helicopter gunships, Xinhua reported.
Two militants' hideouts were destroyed.
