President Zillur Rahman promoted four senior High Court judges including Justice MA Wahhab Miah, Justice Nazmun Ara Sultana, Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain and
Justice M Imman Ali to the Appellate Division, The Daily Star reported today. Chief Justice ABM Khairul Haque will administer the oath soon.
Justice Sultana who was also the first female judge in the HC, was promoted as additional judge of the HC on May 28, 2000. Prime Minister of Bangladesh and leader of the opposition in Parliament both posts are held by women.
