In the picture shared by Silicon Valley venture capitalist Asha Jadeja Motwani, Vance is seen sporting a blue t-shirt with his son on his shoulder, while his wife Usha, dressed in a dull caramel brown outfit, is in the back left corner, holding their daughter. The photo shows Usha Vance's extended Indian family with as many as 21 relatives.

The post read, "JD Vance at Thanksgiving. Reminds me of the big fat Indian wedding."

The image, which surfaced online, has garnered a lot of attention social media with many users appreciating the Republican leader for embracing his wife’s Indian heritage.

Reacting to the post, one user commented, “JD got a sense of real family," while another added, “Lots of respect to Vance here for spending time with his wife’s fully Indian family. It can be hard for an outsider to adapt to Indian culture, especially with the older generation. Seems like they had a great time."

Many others also used the photo to dismiss allegations against Vance of racism. "If the right is racist, explain this Thanksgiving family picture of JD Vance?" While another comment read, "Liberals: 'Republicans are so racist.' Meanwhile, JD's family."

The post, however, also received some negative comments. "If you support JD Vance you are either bring paid by Peter Thiel or you're ngmi."

The couple met while studying law at Yale University in 2014. The two have been married for several years and have three children together. In his memoir, Vance describes Usha as his 'Yale spirit guide.'

Vance in a podcast show by Joe Rogan, spoke fondly about Indian vegetarian cuisine, and Usha's influence on his diet. He said, "If you want to embrace a vegetarian lifestyle, turn to Indian cuisine."
